Finance Manager - Shipyard Operations (UAE)

Position Summary

The Finance Manager will oversee the organization’s financial operations, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, and regulatory compliance to support long-term profitability and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in GCC-based industrial, shipyard, offshore, EPC, or oil & gas environments, with the ability to provide strategic financial leadership to senior management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis
    • Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, management reports, and cash flow reports
    • Conduct financial analysis and provide actionable insights to management
    • Monitor financial performance and identify operational improvement opportunities
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Develop annual budgets, financial plans, and weekly forecasts
    • Perform variance analysis against budgets and project performance
    • Support strategic financial planning initiatives
  • Cost Centre & Project Financial Control
    • Prepare cost centre-wise Profit & Loss analysis
    • Monitor project/job code profitability and notify management of cost variances
    • Coordinate closely with project and operational teams for financial tracking
  • Treasury & Cash Flow Management
    • Manage company treasury, banking relationships, and working capital
    • Monitor and optimize company cash flow position
    • Provide weekly cash flow forecasts and liquidity planning reports
  • Compliance & Audit
    • Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations, Corporate Tax requirements, e-invoicing, and statutory obligations
    • Coordinate external and internal audits
    • Maintain strong financial governance and internal controls
  • Strategic Advisory
    • Advise senior management on financial strategies and business risks
    • Identify opportunities for profitability enhancement and cost reduction
    • Support commercial decision-making and operational efficiency initiatives
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and supervise the Finance & Accounting Department
    • Conduct performance reviews, mentoring, and team development
    • Promote accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the finance team

Key Requirements

  • Education
    • Master’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
    • CPA / CA / ACCA qualification preferred
  • Experience
    • Minimum 15 years of experience in Finance & Accounting
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Finance Manager within the GCC
    • Previous experience in Shipyard, Offshore, EPC, Oil & Gas, or Heavy Engineering industries preferred
