Job Overview

The Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing activities for Ocean Oilfield Drilling services, ensuring cost-effective and timely acquisition of materials, equipment, and services.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead & execute Procurement Strategies in collaboration with department heads including Legal and Compliance.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Project, QA/QC to understand material specifications and delivery timelines.
• Review cost, quality and delivery analysis and recommend best practices and terms & conditions.
• Source and evaluate suppliers for materials, consumables and services.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and long-term agreements.
• Drive cost efficiencies across procurement and delivery processes.
• Supervise day-to-day activities of the Procurement & Purchase department and track KPIs.
• Provide on-the-job training and guidance for team members.
• Ensure standardization of processes and SOPs.
• Create initiatives to leverage market opportunities and reduce risks.
• Coordinate with management to align procurement efforts.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and ethical standards.
• Maintain purchase order tracking through ERP systems.
• Lead cost reduction and alternative sourcing initiatives.

 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-10 years of experience in procurement related to Shipyard / Oil Rig Maintenance Projects.
• Technical knowledge of oil rig processes, machinery, materials, and spare parts.
• Ability to source materials and equipment locally and globally.
